I have been involved in Scouting for many years. I especially love teaching young people skills that they might not achieve in other ways. Scouting is a lot about having fun outdoors!

I joined Girl Guides when I was 10 years old and fell in love with the outdoor activities, camping and the sheer number of life skills I was able to learn which I honestly don’t think I’d have been able to access anywhere else. I went on to become a Young Leader and then left to go to university. I returned but as a Scout Leader 8 years ago and I’ve held various leader roles during this time. I’m always up for a challenge and love the outdoors. I have a deep appreciation for the work that goes into running and supporting the section and group and how the Leaders contribute as volunteers but most importantly, seeing the young people learning, growing in confidence, pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and feeling proud of their achievements is priceless. I’ve loved being able to have my children attend Scouts over the years and to be able to give something back as a Leader.
