Tonight, the Cubs immersed themselves in Chinese New Year. They watched a short video to understand more about the festival that is celebrated every year.

Then, they applied their creative skills to make a fantastic display. They wrote their names in mandarin using Chinese calligraphy, and made red lanterns.

Next up was food tasting… and on the menu was sweet and sour chicken, black bean tofu, prawn crackers and vegetable spring rolls. The Cubs even had a go using chopsticks.
All of the Cubs were encouraged to try some of the food. Trying new food can be a particularly big challenge for 8-10 year olds, but they all made a great effort.
