Amazing evening tonight! Big thanks to Bagheera and his Dad, who retold the story of John Sr who escaped a prisoner of war camp in Germany during WW2.

Flight Lieutenant John TL Shore MC AFC escaped from a POW camp in Germany in October 1941.

I’ve never seen the Cubs so enthralled. What an incredibly moving story.

We also observed a 2 minute silence. The Cubs found this rather difficult, but by the end managed to stay silent.

To remember this very special occasion, we all took home poppy badges to add to our camp blankets.
